What did we do while the boat stayed at the Soo?

A brief summary of our activities June 11-20

Just for the sake of chronological continuity, while Craunological II sat at the Roberta Bondar Marina in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, her captain and first mate were off on various land adventures.

Sunday, June 11 was about doing laundry and chores during a cold, grey day in the Soo.

Monday through Wednesday we rented a car and drove to Holland, Michigan to see our friends Mike and Laurie and stay at their beautiful old cottage in Macatawa. We have visited their place many times over many years and it is always a treat, but especially so this time as we missed them when we were taking the boat up Lake Michigan.

June 15-20 we flew to NYC to visit our son and his family. Thursday and Tuesday were pretty much all-day travel days (connecting flights through Toronto International). The weather warmed up finally (even in the Soo) and was just perfect for our visit. We spent a lot of time in Central Park, walking around the city, hanging out, and eating good meals. Our daughter and her family drove down from Lexington, MA on Sunday, which added to the fun, and stayed through early Monday afternoon. We had an all-afternoon birthday party for Zach in Riverside Park on Monday and the weather and setting were perfect.

We got back to the marina in time to do laundry and get a pump-out before dinner (at the hotel next door as usual).
